Tarte BB Cream and Tarte Primer Review

Hey beauty lovers. Sorry about my absence. Monday's are my day's with my boyfriend's daughter and so it gets a little hectic. I wrote a blog post for last week reviewing a self-tanner but I didn't have time to do a before and after picture of it, so that one should be posting sometime after tomorrow because I do my self tanning Monday night's. I just have to wake up in time to take a picture of my tanned bod in the AM.

Anyways, on to what I'm sure you all really cared about...

Last week I purchased Tarte clean state flawless 12-hour brightening primer and the Tarte BB tinted treatment in light. Let's talk about each product separately.

The Tarte primer is the one in the brown tube. There is also one in a purple tube but as I could tell in texture and ingredients at the store, there was not much of a difference. When reading reviews, a lot of people liked the purple tube over the brown one, so naturally I decided to get the one people didn't like...(why in the world was that my thinking?) I have only ever used one other face primer than this which was the Prime Time by bare essentials. I really enjoyed it but never repurchased. Now, the Tarte primer is silicone-free, waterproof, and brightening and you get 1 fl. oz. and it is around the $30 mark. I put on a pretty heavy moisturizer before I put the primer on because I have some seriously dry skin. The primer comes out in an off-white color. It smells like citrus so if you aren't into that smell, you won't like this. It goes on the face really smooth, however, since it doesn't have any silicone in it, it goes on more like a moisturizer. I really like this primer, I'm not quite sure why people were saying in the reviews that their makeup didn't stay on all day. I feel like people think that primers are a product to use in place of having to touch up, which is never the case. It just provides a smoother canvas for your makeup to go on, and prolongs your makeup. 98% of the time at some point in your day, you'll probably want to touch up your makeup. Overall, I enjoy this product, and I can see that it gives my makeup more staying power.

The Tarte BB Tinted Treatment is a healthy treatment, has a 12-hour primer already in it, has buildable coverage, oil-free moisturizer, pore minimzer, skin brightener, and chemical-free sunscreen. If you do not like silicone primers, you will not like this product. I found it odd that it has a silicone primer in the formulation while their actual primers do not. They have 4 shades, I got it in the shade light which matches more with my fake tan, but if I wasn't fake tanning I would be wearing fair. You get 1 fl. oz. of this product and it was around the $34 mark. I apply this with my fingers. A little bit goes a long way. You could use a brush if you wanted, but I just like how it feels when I put it on with my fingers. It is really buildable. I tried using 2 applications of it but I find that with my skin I only need one. It definitely lasts throughout the day. which I really have liked. I wanted to use it a week before I really talked about it to see if I was seeing any of those "healthy skin benefits" and actually, I am. I'm not sure if this was the actual product itself, or a combination of that and hormones but my face was broken  out really badly on my chin the first day I used this product and now at day 6 my chin is almost completely cleared up. The only downfall I have with this product is that it gets really clingy and patchy on my dry skin. I have really dry skin on my chin, around my nose, and in between my eyebrows. Throughout the day it got real weird around those areas. I think that with wearing it a week, that it has gotten a little better but if your face is like mine, or worse with dryness there is a chance you will hate it. I could definitely see people with normal to oily skin using this. It has a matte finish just be aware if you have dry skin. So far, I'm really enjoying using it and hopefully my skin will keep gaining "healthy benefits" from it.

That's' both products on my skin. Nice right?
I hope this review was helpful. Let me know if you have tried this product and what your thoughts were?

Strawberry Blonde Perfectionist

Don't hate me please! Last week wasn't a happy Monday. I didn't post ): I'm sorry!! I have been exhausted recently. I am working at my internship 2-4 days a week and the days I am not working there I am working doubles every day at my serving job. But alas! I asked if I could have a day off each week from my serving job and she gave me Mondays'. How perfect, right?

Today, I got my hair done again. My roots were looking rough which is super because that means... MY HAIR IS GROWING. Thank goodness for highlights because if I didn't have them, there would be no way I could tell if my hair was growing.

On a different note, before I get to talking about my color, I have started to take a new hair growing pill. I know what you're thinking, "Again Stacey? How many times do you need to try them until you realize it's not really working?" I am now taking 5000 mg of Biotin each night. No clue if it's working but it makes me feel better! It's like if I take them at night, I'll wake up and BAM long hair. Don't get me wrong, it's getting longer but not fast enough.

Alright on to the hair. This time I asked for my roots to be done along with adding more blonde. The more the merrier right?!

Can you see? Can you see?! It's way more blonde than last time. I actually have no idea if you can tell by looking at pictures but for sure in person. Last time, she put a tint all over my hair so it would be lighter but it faded out in like a week. This time it's just lots more highlights. I really like it.

Also, I went to Sally's Beauty to look around and found this sulfate free hair care product called hair one. Has anyone tried it? I bought a little baby sample of it, but the lady told me if I didn't like WEN I probably won't like it. I'm gonna give the sample a shot. If it's awesome I'm sure I'll tell you all about it and the boyfriend will be annoyed because I purchased more shampoo...

Until Next Time..
